We are very happy to announce that for the first time in the history of the Saarbrücken Conferences on Foreign Language Teaching, our participants will be received at the State Chancellery of Saarland in the evening of the first conference day
The State Chancellery of Saarland is adjacent to Ludwigskirche, a Saarbrücken landmark and one of the most important protestant churches in Germany. Opposite the State Chancellery is the French Embassy – a location which symbolises the close relationship between France and Saarland in history.
A shuttle bus will take the conference participants to the State Chancellery, the departure time is scheduled at 6.30 p.m. The meeting point is the lobby of Saarland Democracy Foundation, i.e. the conference venue.
At the State Chancellery, we will be welcomed by a high-ranking member of the local government. Apart from the official speeches, conference participants will be indulged with classical music at its best. Canapés and refreshments will be served while guests may enjoy the opportunity to socialise and network.
We are looking forward to this unique event and to seeing you there.

In the evening of the second day of the conference, participants and guests will be welcomed to a buffet evening – which has become a conference tradition. This year, the buffet evening will take place in the lobby of the Basilica of St. John the Baptist (address: 26, Katholisch-Kirch-Straße, 66111 Saarbrücken), which is about 15 minutes’ walking distance from the conference venue. After the last talk of the second day, we will set off to walk to St. John via the Saarbrücken town centre and the old town. Participants who wish to be taken to the location by car will be provided with a shuttle service.
Ms. Alison Boardman – who already participated in the Third Saarbrücken Conference on Foreign Language Teaching – will perform live music for our guests’ pleasure. The music programme will consist of well-known songs for everyone's entertainment.
With live music and culinary delights, we hope our guests and participants will enjoy an unforgettable evening.
